Globo U.S. Expansion Gathers Speed New Pittsburgh office will focus on software development and furthers U.S. footprintMay 6, 2015
Palo Alto, Calif. – May 6, 2015 – Globo Plc (LSE-AIM: GBO), the global provider of enterprise mobility management and application development platforms and services, today announced the opening of its fifth U.S. office in Pittsburgh, Penn.
Since the beginning of operations in North America in February 2012, Globo has expanded quickly to five locations across the U.S. It has two offices in Calif. – its operational headquarters in Palo Alto and a design and development facility in San Francisco. It has a sales office in New York and a development and technical support center in Canfield, Ohio, with the latest addition being the office in Pittsburgh.
Globo COO Dimitris Protogirou said the new location was specifically chosen to help the company recruit and retain the best talent and that Globo would particularly seek to attract outstanding graduates from the region’s two premier universities – Carnegie Mellon and the University of Pittsburgh.
“The new Pittsburgh office will be a specialized software engineering facility and will work closely with our development team in Canfield,” Protogirou said. “We have an aggressive recruitment strategy in place to attract the best and brightest talent to our rapidly expanding team.”
Globo’s expansion is driven by its strong market performance, which in turn, is based on its comprehensive product and services offering in mobility. Globo offers mobile app development services that manage the entire lifecycle of mobile apps as businesses transform to a “mobile first” world. Its GO!Enterprise platform can in turn deploy, manage and secure these apps on mobile devices across all operating systems.
“This recognition is already being reflected in our strong annual results and is fuelling our expansion,” added Protogirou. “Global revenues in 2014 were up 49 percent to €106m ($119m) with the growth in GO! Enterprise revenue particularly strong at almost €58m ($65m) – a remarkable 94 percent increase on the same period last year. ”
Globo was recently included in Ovum’s 2015-16 Decision Matrix for Mobile Application Development Platform (MADP) Solutions. The company was also recognized as a major “Market Challenger” amongst the 12 leading MADP vendors, with the potential to become a Tier-1 player.
