About Byron Kokkalanis
The 29 year old athlete begun windsurfing at the age of 13 and since has seen a meteoric rise in his athletic career. Always an avid surfer, he started with the Mistral class (Junior World Championship) and since 2006 he’s been training and competing in the RS:X class, winning many medals and awards, both in international competitions and the Olympic Games. The next big challenge for Byron, beyond his continuous participation in global windsurfing competitions over the next two years, is of course his attendance and “standing at the podium” at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016.
